3D Ultrasound Frequently Asked Questions
How many weeks in to pregnancy is optimal for 3D ultrasound viewing?
For the Pink or Blue Gender Assessment, you will need to be at least twenty weeks in to your pregnancy and have previously completed your routine diagnostic ultrasound. For our Signature Fetal Tour, we suggest being between twenty-six to twenty-eight weeks in to your pregnancy. The latest we are able to perform your 3D ultrasound session is thirty-four weeks. Please read our 3D/4D ultrasound tips before coming in.
What is included in the CD, DVD and Printed Image Upgrade?
The Visao Upgrade is everything you’ll need to remember your 3D ultrasound experience. Your CD of images includes between thirty and seventy JPEG images that are easy to share online and email to friends. The DVD video includes a thirty minute live recording of your 3D ultrasound session; we’ll provide background music for the DVD or you can bring in your own music on an MP3 player or CD to record for the session. The two printed images are similar to what you may have seen during your routine diagnostic ultrasound, but Som Visao prints yours in 3D.
Will I be with a Sonographer for the session?
Yes! Som Visao only employs experienced ultrasound technicians carrying either ARDMS or CARDUP certifications. Our technicians have worked in a range of ultrasound settings in both public and private facilities and are well versed in the 3D application.

Our address is 3195 Granville Street, Vancouver BC, V6H 3K2. You can call 604-732-9901 seven days a week to book your 3D/4D ultrasound with us.
When do you perform 3D ultrasound sessions?
We currently perform sessions by appointment four days a week. Evening and weekend appointmens are avialable.
Can I bring friends and family?
Yes! We have room for mom plus five in our luxurious ultrasound studio. You’ll all enjoy plush seating, and mom will be in a hydraulic spa bed adjusted just right for the show. We can also arrange for seating of more than five if you notify us when you book. Quite often we find our guests coming from Abbotsford, Coquitlam, Surrey, Langley or Richmond to see us at Som Visao.
