Welcome to Som Visao's First Trimester Wellness Program. We've designed this program to be a fun and effective way to build a foundation of healthy lifestyle habits as your begin your pregnancy. Diana Steele R.D. - Committed to teaching nutrition in a realistic and do-able way, Diana has provided personalized nutrition counseling to over 1500 individuals, couples and families and has designed and delivered over 500 nutrition workshops and seminars across the country. About the First Trimester Program
The First Trimester Wellness Program considers the emotional and physical changes that commonly occur as you begin your journey through pregnancy. We've designed this program to be a fun and challenging balance of one-on-one exercise sessions, nutrition counseling, and rewarding spa services that reduce anxiety while treating the common changes that occur during the first trimester. All of the planning for this program has been taken care of by the experts at Som Visao and give you the tools to start your pregnancy right.
Rewarding Spa Escapes - Our spa escapes are offered to reduce anxiety and are tailored to some of the changes that occur during the first trimester. We include the spa escapes into the program as way for you to reward yourself for working hard through your lifestyle coaching program and nutrition counseling program. All of our prenatal spa selections are free of teratogens and our Aestheticians have been trained to work with expecting mothers.
Lifestyle Coaching - We introduce you to an exercise program that follows the pre/postnatal exercise guidelines developed by the CSEP (Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists) and SOGC (Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada) and ensure that your program is instructed by a pre/post natal exercise specialist who is fully-qualified to these standards. The program is designed to be low impact and considers the effects of morning sickness and nausea. The goal of this program is to design a foundation of strength and technique to carry you through the second and third trimesters. Nutrition Counseling - We emphasize the consumption of safe foods for pregnancy since your fetus is most susceptible to teratogens during the first 10 weeks of gestation. A consultation with our Registered Dietitian will provide you with the guidance to ensure you are meeting your requirements for key nutrients including calcium, iron, folate, vitamin D and essential fatty acids. We also select foods to supply you with the energy and nutrients you'll need to stay active and healthy in the face of your competing pregnancy hormones.
